The Fact
George Bush is getting some positive headlines now by taking advantage of, and getting “involved” in, the Mideast peace talks.
That’s about it on the “Facts”.
My View
Does anybody remember Ronald Reagan and the Berlin Wall? After years of Pope John Paul II leading the charge for freeing Poland from the Soviet Union, Poland was finally freed. As a result, the other countries under Soviet domination realized they too could free themselves, including East Germany. Literally, just days before the Berlin Wall would fall, Ronald Reagan’s forces decided to put him in front of the Berlin Wall and demand “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!” As a result of this, the Republican machine in our country has made certain that Ronald Reagan go full credit for the destruction of the Soviet Union.
This all happened near the seventh year of Reagan’s administration. Like George Bush of today, Reagan had a very low public rating because of the damage he did to our country & its ordinary citizens. This stage show was an attempt to give Reagan a positive legacy. AND IT WORKED!
This is the same thing Bush is doing now; taking advantage of others hard work in order to leave a positive legacy. Expect to see a lot of this sort of thing over the next 14 months. Also expect the other extremist rights to play it up big.
