The Facts
Today President George Bush addressed the economic situation of America. He said the economy was on a solid foundation, jobs are good, and that the economy was strong and vibrant in 2007.
My View
This idiot will never give up his arrogance. That, or either he has been living on Mars for the past several years. However, in Bush’s definition, as long as the wealthy and big businesses have jobs and are raking in the money, the economy is great.
No one has to be told what the current economy is if you are in the working class of America. And no one has got to tell the working class that the current job situation is bad, what with all the outsourcing. Bush did say that jobs “slowed” last month, but he didn’t acknowledge that the job situation for 2007 was the worst year since hurricane Katrina.
Bush did say he was considering an economic stimulus package. The experts are saying you can bet it will include some sort of tax cut, but we know what Bush’s tax cuts mean; a big tax cut for the wealthy and big business and some crumbs for the working class.

“The US trade deficit expanded to its highest level in 14 months in November as imports, especially of oil, overshadowed a rise in exports.
The Commerce Department said that the trade deficit expanded by 9.3% to $63.1bn (£32bn) driven by a 16.3% jump in America’s foreign oil bill.
US exports rose by 0.4% to a new record of $142.3bn, getting a boost from the weaker dollar.
Analysts said the growing deficit could weigh on US economic growth.”
