The Facts
The Republican Party in Ohio asked for and got a secret meeting with the Republican members only of the Board of Elections. Democratic representatives tried to attend the meeting but were turned away, thereby turning the Board of Elections in Ohio into a partisan entity.
My Views
Anybody remember Florida during the 2000 Presidential election? I guess the Ohio Republicans figure that if Florida can control the outcome of a Presidential election, so can they. It seems that Ohio is just getting a head start on it.
Of course, no one but those attending know what they really talked about, but anytime you want to have a private meeting with the Board of Elections on a partisan basis, there has to be something that you don’t want the other party or the general public to know. Surely they, the Republicans, knew there would be a backlash over this; therefore, this is just another example of the arrogant attitude of power. I don’t know the political party makeup of the state of Ohio, but if the state elected officials allow this to happen, then all I can say is that the Republicans are now dictators in that state.
