US Taxpayers Pay While Iraq Invest

March 4th, 2008 · 1 Comment · Government, Iraqi War, Politics & Politicans, Republicans, Wars

March 4, 2008

The Facts

The US taxpayers are paying for the reconstruction of Iraq while the Iraqi government is investing their oil revenue dollars in American financial institutes. But at least one Democrat Senator, Carl Levin, is trying to change that, but he seems to be getting resistance from the Republican side.

My View

To begin with, the Cheney puppeteer administration told us the war was only going to cost about $50 billion, but is already between $250 and $500 billion, depending on which report you look at, and it is climbing about $100 thousand per minute. Now we find out that Iraq is stock piling their wealth while the US taxpayers are paying for rebuilding their country. This oil revenue wealth will undoubtedly be used in the future by extremist to kill us, but our government seems to be ok with that. We have to remember that as long as American businesses are becoming wealthier off the war, nothing else matters.

Ready the report here.

The cost to taxpayers is the same.
