The Facts
George Michael of Chicago, a multi-millionaire, has come up with a way to not pay taxes on his $3 million home; he licensed it as a church. Outsiders are not allowed because the home is in a sub-division with “No Trespassing” and “Private Property” signs. So the only people who can attend the “church” are Michael’s family and some close friends.
My View
You know, can we really blame him? What with the all the tax loopholes available to those who earn over $200,000 a year or more and pay no taxes, the poor guy may still have to pay 1 or 2 percent of his gross income in taxes (maybe), AND THAT JUST AIN’T FAIR! And what better way to not pay property taxes; our so-called “religious leaders” of today have proven over and over again that this scam really works and there’s nothing that can be done about it. Boy, do I envy them.
