Our Military Veterans Screwed Again By Our Government

The Facts

The National Veterans Business Development Corp., known as Veterans Corp., a so-called non-profit organization is spending hundreds of thousands of dollars of taxpayer’s money on a lavish life style for themselves. The money is supposed to be spent helping veterans start a small business. Veterans Corp. has received $17 million in federal funds since 2001 and spent just 15% on its intended purpose. In 2008, they only spent 9% toward helping veterans.

According to the Washington Post, Veterans Corp. executives spent money on such things as $2,400 at an upscale steakhouse in Washington D.C. over a two night period, and $380 per night in a luxury hotel in Dallas, Texas. Their air travels have been in first class, and their two top executives were compensated with almost one-quarter of their total federal funds.

My View

I have found two articles about this crime on just two web sites, so it’s getting very little attention. And other than Democratic Senator John Kerry and Republican Senator Olympia Snowe suggesting that funding be cut off from Veterans Corp., no punishment is being recommended to any individuals of the corporation. In other words, “they stole the money, but let’s just don’t worry about it”. But what did we expect; they’re ‘white collar’ criminals.

The following are the names of Staff Members and the Board Members. At the bottom is how you can contact Veterans Corp. I suggest you follow my lead and send them the nastiest letter you can write up. It’s about the only satisfaction we’re going to get from them for stealing our money and cheating our war veterans out of what rightfully belonged to them. We’re always hearing about how much “we support our troops”, so let’s see if there is any meat behind those words.
