The Facts
Here I’ve been saying for the past two years that I pay close attention to the news of the day, yet this one got completely by me. Heck, the “news of the day” is where I get most of the stuff I write about. But evidently I’m not paying as close attention as I thought I was. Glenn Beck has moved from CNN to Fox News, and not only did I not know about it, I hadn’t even heard he was moving. Shame on me.
I learn of Beck’s move when I switched over to Fox News today at the right time, which was during Glenn Beck’s show. I nearly jumped off the couch. I often look at Fox News in an effort to be fair in my viewing of the day’s news, but when they start talking politics, which is most of the time, I have to leave. It’s like watching MSNBC and expecting to hear something good about Republicans and something bad about the Democrats. It just ain’t gonna happen, just like you ain’t gonna hear anything negative about Republicans or anything positive about Democrats at Fox News.
I’ve written at least three posts on Glenn Beck. The first was in January of last year, then again on March 7th of last year and finally on March 14th of last year. The last one, March 14, 2008 I suggested that Glen Beck Should Move To Fox, and now he’s taken my advice. Wow! I didn’t realize the “power of the pen” had so much power.
My View
Ok, now to get serious. It’s only natural that Beck be at Fox News. Everyone knows Fox is the gathering place for all those who hate the Democratic Party and love the Republican Party. Fox News is the epitome of partisan political reporting and Republican ideology. And that’s the same thing Beck has been preaching ever since he’s been at CNN and probably long before. Most likely he’s just been auditioning for Fox and now he’s got “the call”. Congratulations Glenn! You’ve made it to the “big show”!
