Carlos Gutierrez and Jonathan Tasini had a “discussion” on CNBC today about the ‘trade wars’, in the sense of protectionism. I use the word “discussion” facetiously of course as it was nothing near that. Gutierrez gave an A-plus lesson in how to win your argument — over-talk your opponent.
As we have all learned at one time or another, when someone doesn’t like what you have to say and don’t want you to get your point across, they simply start talking louder than you, hoping you will eventually give up. In the end, they win — thus the objective.
I am not a fan of either of the two rumblers. However, I also do not like to close my ears to opposing thoughts and ideas. But that’s not the objective of the Gutierrez’s of the world.
