CNBC’s Power Lunch had another go today at trying to convince our countries citizens that wealthy people should be allowed to hide their money in tax havens in order to not pay their fair share of taxes. It never ceases to amaze me how people can “justify” tax evasion only for the wealthy and, at the same time, come up with the most ridicules reasons of how this idea is good for us commoners.
To this effort, they invited Nicole Tichon of U.S. PIRG, a tax reform group, and Dan Mitchell of the CATO Institute on their program to debate the proposal. I leave it up to you to decide who was CNBC’s “friend” in helping to promote tax havens. And I invite you to visit each site and decide who you want speaking up for your personal tax rights.
Many on CNBC promote this idea. Some are very outspoken on the matter. I published this post back in April where Michelle Caruso-Cabrera and Dennis Kenale was trying to convince a guest and the viewing public that we should legalize tax havens. But, what can we expect? As I reported in this video post, Darrell Issa, a Republican Representative, told CNBC “you talk to Wall Street, you represent Wall Street, you care about Wall Street”.
The video requires no comment from me. Just watch it.
