Republicans New ‘Jobs’ Bill Insults Our Intelligence

Of all the things the GOP has said and done to insult the American public’s intelligence, this has got to top the charts.
House Republican have introduced a bill (PDF) called “JOBS”. It stands for “Jobs, Opportunity, Benefits, and Services Act of 2011”. Naturally it is already being touted by the GOP and their propaganda networks as a bill that will actually stimulate jobs. BULLSHIT!
The bill does nothing more than permit states to use federal unemployment funds for things other than unemployment benefits, such as paying down the states debt.
Prior to the 2010 election, jobs were the GOP’s number one agenda — or so they claimed. “Jobs” was their rallying cry for justification of extending the Bush tax cuts to the wealthy. But since the tax cuts were extended, 146 days ago, we haven’t heard one single discussion about jobs; except of course when it was to hammer the Democrats. And since the new Congress convened in January, with the Republicans in charge of the House, not one single bill has been introduced that addresses the growing unemployment in our country. But they’ve damn sure addressed everything else — bills designed to promote their ideological ideas. As the DCCC put it, the GOP’s plan for jobs is to start saying the word “Jobs” more often.
The following partial list of bills (37) they’ve either passed or attempted to pass tells you all you need to know about what’s important to Republicans; and it’s obviously not jobs or the unemployed.
