The three following charts were prepared by three separate sources, each telling their own story. However, when viewed together they tell us a much bigger story. They shed a lot of light on what our country has turned in to and how we got there.
As you view these charts, remember that over the past three decades our country has slowly but surely evolved from a widget-making / service economy to a Wall Street economy. That wasn’t by accident; it was by design.
The first chart comparing worker pay to CEO pay is in 2011 dollars, and both are reflected as hourly wages.
