Random Thoughts on Other Notable Headlines of the Day — Issue XXXVIII

August 11th, 2009 · No Comments · Wall Street

Rachel Beck of The Associated Press is saying the same; “[SEC] is like a traffic cop ticketing a speeding care instead of its driver”. She quotes Thomas Gorman of Porter Wright Morris & Arthur as saying “if the SEC really wants to regain its title of top cop, then it will have to prosecute individuals involved. Big fines [to companies] won’t stop bad behavior”.

Obama Regulatory Reform Review

June 17th, 2009 · No Comments · Wall Street

The defenders of the upward flow of wealth and ideological enemies are going to spin this plan to it’s maximum. As in the past, they will resort to literal lies in order to get you to believe them. The Fight Over (Re) Distribution Of Wealth

March 10th, 2009 · No Comments · The President

Those that are benefitting from the current direction of money flow are saying the Obama administration is turning us toward socialism. Harold Meyerson for the Washington Post successfully points out that Obama is no socialist. The old (non)reliable standby claim that says ‘if we allow the rich to get richer, the poor will benefit’ just doesn’t fool people any more. As has been pointed out by several respected people, if that worked the Republicans would still be in power, they wouldn’t have the black eye they have now, and the depression (?) we are in wouldn’t be upon us.

Why We Must Regulate And Enforce

February 25th, 2009 · No Comments · Wall Street

Those that have witnessed the result of the past decade or so and still lobby for little or no regulation is either living in a self-induced coma or in complete denial. Our corporate executives have proven beyond a shadow of a doubt they will not control themselves, left to their own vices.
