Well, we’ve heard bits and pieces about wealthy folks hiding their money offshore in order to avoid paying their fair share of federal taxes. At center stage lately is the involvement of the Swiss bank UBS. The Internal Revenue Service has been working for more than a year with the bank to get them to give up the names of American citizens who have money hid in their bank. Through a lot of negotiations and some starts & stops, it appears the IRS has prevailed.
